Star light, star bright, First star I see tonight,

I wish I may, I wish I might, Have this wish I wish tonight.

Remember hearing this when you were a child? Or remember repeating this verse to your own little ones while waiting for the first stay to appear in the sky?

It was getting toward dusk tonight, when I went outside especially to wait for the first star to appear in the east.

Okay — so it was Jupiter and not actually a “star” at all, but what the heck.

The sky wasn’t yet dark, but Jupiter popped to life against the darker backdrop of the evening sky.

And it was beautiful!

And I most assuredly made a wish.

If you haven’t been out lately, watching for the first star you see tonight, make tonight the night you go out. Jupiter is putting on a lovely show.

If you’re more of an early bird, check the morning sky for Venus.

And don’t forget to make a wish.

Best,
