#thisdaysjoy: dependable transportation
November 27, 2023
Oh my word what a long strange trip this has been! It began innocently enough when our check engine light went on a month ago.
It took a week to get the car in for an appointment to see what exactly was the matter. Ghrrrr…
It was a BIG THING, but thankfully a thing that is covered by the warranty on the car, so we left the car with assurances that they would have the parts and get things fixed right up.
Except there’s a UAW Strike. MORE GHRRRRR…..because even though the guys at the car dealership say most of the parts are there, there’s one particular part that is simply NOT available — evidently not available ANYWHERE in the United States.
There’s no loner to be had, so we’re using my dad’s old farm truck because…at least it had wheels and would get us where we needed to go.
YAY FARM TRUCK!!!
And then on this weekend the dealership called and said they had a loaner…did we want it?
Yes, in fact we DO, we REALLY REALLY DO!
So today, I’m grateful for a loaner and an old pickup truck!
