#thisdaysjoy: a whiff of a favorite smell
November 9, 2023
There’s a Dutch country market not far from here, and we usually stop in there once a week.
It’s where we buy all our loose peppermint tea, and they carry spectacular pies with the most yummy crust — pre-assembled, frozen, and ready to toss in the oven at home. They’ve got a great selection of lunch meat, including some things that are harder to find like really yummy pickle loaf and sweet bologna.
During the lawn and garden season it is THE place to go for flowers.
BUT, the real reason to stop in is the smell.
The doors slide open, and I’m caught up in a wave of fresh baked bread smells wafting through the air.
White bread, wheat bread, oatmeal bread, frosted cinnamon raisin bread, banana bread, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, lemon poppy seed bread, friendship bread….
Well, you get the sniff.
What’s one of your favorite smells? Let me know in the comments!
