#thisdaysjoy: a quiet walk at sunset
November 22, 2023
Polar Night began at the North Pole last week on November 13th, and the pole won’t see the sun again until the end of January.
And while we’re nowhere near Polar Night here in mid-Missouri, the days are most definitely shorter.
Still, there’s something special about the coming of darkness on these late autumn evenings when the angle of the sun lights up the sky with its sweet light.
A quiet walk at sunset means hearing the rustling of the squirrels as they put themselves to bed. It means hearing the running of the deer as November is the height of mating season. Maybe there’s the hoot of an early bird owl who’s waking up for the evening.
This long holiday weekend — make time for a quiet walk at sunset, then let me know what you saw and heard.
